BaBylissPRO Origin
BaBylissPRO was first created by hairstylists René Lelièvre and Roger Lemoine, located in Paris in 1961. Lelièvre innovated the early curling tong and marketed his products for professional hair stylists.
We continue this legacy today with Conair Corporation, founded in 1959 in a garage in Queens, New York, where the company began with hair rollers and hair dryers. In 1995, BaByliss was acquired by the Conair Corporation and we have since expanded our collection of innovative hair tools.
The BaByliss name has made a significant mark on hair styling across continents. “BaByliss” is synonymous with the Hebrew word for “curling iron” as we pioneered the common use of Lelièvre’s professional hair curler throughout Europe before venturing to all corners of the globe.
